Saw (saw) - Saw

Japanese: かがり(のこぎり) - かがり
Saw (saw) - Saw

...(4) includes saws for wood, bamboo, metal cutting, etc. For hand sawing of wood, in addition to the rake, cross saw, and variegated saws already mentioned, there are also fine-toothed, precisely cut, back saws (also called back saws because they have back plates to reinforce the thinness of the saw blade), ridge saws for cutting end grooves, lathe saws used by boat carpenters, and thrust saws for cutting curves. There are also rake saws, front saws, overhanging saws, and double-headed saws used for hand sawing. (5) Most hand saws and machine saws are made of 5-6 types of carbon tool steel (hard enough to be filed), but recently many circular saws and the like have blades made of super-hard alloys (tungsten carbide), which are called chip saws.
