Chemical cell

A battery that converts chemical energy into electrical energy by using spontaneous chemical reactions. Two metal electrodes A and B are placed in an electrolyte solution S, and many are configured in the form of A｜S｜B or A｜S ₁ ｜S ₂ ｜B. There is a liquid junction potential difference at the interface between S ₁ and S ₂ , which affects the electromotive force of the battery. There are also air batteries, which react with gas at the electrodes.
