Kaimur Mountains - Kaimursanchi

Japanese: カイムル山地 - かいむるさんち
Kaimur Mountains - Kaimursanchi

...a mountain range that crosses almost the entire Indian peninsula from east to west in central India, intermittently. Its total length is about 1000 km. Its elevation is 500-1000 m, with its highest point only 1113 m, but its southern side is a steep cliff that drops into the Narmada River graben. For this reason, it has long been an important barrier separating the Deccan Plateau from northern India, and even today it is an important border between the Indo-Aryan peoples in the north and the Dravidian peoples in the south. The northern side of the range slopes downward toward the Malwa Plateau, through which the great rivers of the Ganga (Ganges) River system, such as the Chambal, Betwa, Keng, and Sone, flow north.
