Saburo Katsuta

Saburo Katsuta

...He is thought to have been a member of the Minamoto clan for many generations, and the name "Katsuta in Totomi Province" appears as one who followed Minamoto no Yoshitomo during the Hogen Rebellion (1156). He was one of the retainers under the Kamakura Shogunate, and in 1186 (Bun'ei 2), Katsuta Saburo (first Katsuta Heizō) was appointed Genba no Suke. During the memorial service for the reconstruction of Todaiji Temple in 1195 (Kenkyu 6), Katsuta Saburo accompanied Minamoto no Yoritomo to Kyoto and attended the memorial service.
