…Antoine Caron (c. 1520-c. 1600), who worked under Primaticcio, later painted scenes of massacres from the Wars of Religion and processions for festivals in similarly bright tones. The Second School of Fontainebleau was led by three painters, Toussaint Dubreuil (1561-1602), Ambroise Dubois (1543-1614), and Martin Fréminet (1567-1619), who also worked on decorating palaces. They continued the style of the First School, but at the same time adopted the style of Flemish painting. …
