Three-faced babysitter - Mitsumen no Komori

Japanese: 三つ面子守 - みつめんのこもり

The title of a Kabuki dance piece. Tokiwazu. The original title was "Hana Nichiyo Magaki no Ukareme (Chrysanthemum Butterfly East Riding Courtesan)." It premiered at the Edo Kawarazaki Theater in September 1829 (Bunsei 12). Lyrics by Tsuuchi Jihei, composition by Misaki Tokuji. Choreography by Nishikawa Senzo IV. One of the four transformations. The premiere was performed by Segawa Kikunojo V as an important (Ogiri) Shosagoto with a combination of Nagauta and Tomimoto. It is a light-hearted short dance in which a babysitter alternately wears three masks, Okame, Ebisu, and Hyottoko, to soothe her baby. The highlight is the different characters that are danced.

歌舞伎舞踊の曲名。常磐津。本名題《菊蝶東籬妓（はなにちようまがきのうかれめ）》。1829年(文政12)9月，江戸河原崎座初演。作詞津打治兵衛，作曲名見崎徳治。振付4世西川扇蔵。四変化物の一。初演は長唄と富本の掛合で大切（おおぎり）所作事として5世瀬川菊之丞が演じた。子守が赤子をあやすため，おかめ，恵比須，ひょっとこの三つの面をかわるがわるかぶって踊る軽妙な小品舞踊。それぞれ違った性格を踊り分けるのが見どころである。
