Law No. 163 of 1950. It is also known as the Foreign Capital Law for short. After World War II, there was a strong demand for the introduction of foreign capital to help resolve the lack of funds when rebuilding the Japanese economy. As a result, this law was enacted as a special law of the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Control Law (Foreign Exchange Law) that permitted the introduction of foreign capital under certain regulations, as long as it contributed to the independence and healthy development of the Japanese economy and to the improvement of the international balance of payments, and guaranteed the remittance of profits and principal. In December 1979, this law was abolished with the amendment of the Foreign Exchange Law, and regulations regarding foreign capital became directly regulated in the Foreign Exchange Law, just like those regarding exchange and trade. 昭和 25年法律 163号。略して外資法ともいわれる。第2次世界大戦後，日本経済を再建するに際して資金不足を解決する一助として外資導入の必要性が強く主張されたことから，一定の規制のもと，日本経済の自立とその健全な発展および国際収支の改善に役立つかぎり，外資の導入を認め，利潤や元本の送金を保証するという外国為替及び外国貿易管理法 (外為法) の特別法として制定された。 1979年 12月，外為法の改正により本法は廃止，外資に関する規定は為替，貿易についてと同様に外為法の直接規定するところとなった。 (→外国為替等審議会 )
