...Bando Tsumasaburo then became independent and teamed up with the Susukita/Futagawa duo to create Orochi (1925), an explosive brawl scene that depicted the resistance and rebellious spirit of the ronin. These works by Susukita Rokkuhei clearly showed the influence of American serials in terms of the speed of the screen development and the characters' movements, and the Susukita/Futagawa duo's The Falcon (1924), starring Takagi Shinpei, was an adaptation of Zorro, starring Douglas Fairbanks. Other examples include Ichikawa Domonosuke's The Ghost of Zorro, and Ichikawa Arataro's Black Priest, which can be considered an adaptation of Robin Hood.
