Ontosophia - Ontosophia

...The term dates back to the Latin ontologia, or philosophia de ente, which is a combination of the Greek on and logos, and is derived from the German Aristotelian Rudolf Goclenius in the early 17th century. In the middle of the same century, the German Cartesian Johann Clauberg also called it ontosophia and interpreted it as metaphysics of beings. It was C. Wolff in the 18th century who first incorporated ontology into a philosophical system, followed by Kant.
