... <iso-itak> was originally an itak (story) of iso, referring to the catch caught in fishing and hunting, and is said to have been a tale of glory boasting about the catch, but before this form was established, it came to mean "narrating an experience" and was often used in song and music. Nowadays, along with orspe (rumor stories), depending on the content, it is treated as being close to upasikuma or the same as tuitak. The above works are not as strict as songs, but there is a sense of telling the story in atomte-itak (ornamental language), while the following works use yayan-itak (ordinary language) and are told in a casual style. ...
