drawn thread work

...It is a basic technique for handicrafts, such as thread removal or openwork. It is an abbreviation of drawn thread work. If the threads of the base fabric are removed to a desired width, for example the warp threads, the remaining weft threads are left, and the weft threads are then stitched with a different thread to create a lace-like shape. There are two ways to remove the threads: the insertion method, in which the threads are removed in only one direction, either vertically or horizontally, and the Mexican, Italian, German, and Norwegian Hardanger work, in which the threads are removed in both vertical and horizontal directions to create a lattice pattern.
