〘 noun 〙 (meaning "goryo-nin") 1. Bikuni (nuns) , nuns, especially those in charge of policing as their chief. → Oan. ※Tenshohon Kyogen, Bikusada (late Muromachi period - early modern period) "They say they will turn the ignorant oryo into an honorable man." 2. One of the Kyogen masks. Used in plays featuring old nuns, such as " Bikusada" and " Iori no Ume ." 3. In the Edo period, the name given to singing nuns and kanjin nuns, who were a type of prostitute. Especially the head of the group. ※Kanazoshi, Miyako Fuzoku Kan (1681), vol. 4 "The address of a nun is (abbreviated) : after they have served for a long time, they are called oreu. "
