Point test

Japanese: point test(英語表記)pointtest
Point test

…A coefficient used to measure the pulse rate at rest, the difference in pulse rate caused by changes in body position, the increase in pulse rate immediately after exercise, and the time it takes for the pulse rate to return to the resting value, and is used as an index to comprehensively assess physical fitness. This test method is also called the Schneider test or point test. This can be evaluated using a point system, but the procedure for this method is as follows: (1) After five minutes of lying down, measure the pulse rate and blood pressure for one minute, (2) After standing quietly, measure the pulse rate and blood pressure in a standing position two minutes later, (3) Have the subject step up and down a 10.5-inch (about 27 cm) high platform once every three seconds, repeating this five times, (4) Count the pulse rate immediately after exercise for 15 seconds while standing and record the number of pulse rates per minute, (5) Continue to count the pulse rate for 15 seconds while standing, and record the time it takes to recover to the normal number while standing. If the pulse rate has not recovered within two minutes, count and record the number of pulse rates while standing, and score the subject according to a set method based on each pulse rate.
