Its abbreviation is CVn. It is a small constellation in the northern sky between the constellations Boötes and Boötes. It is a giant boötes with two ferocious dogs at the end of a leash in his left hand, facing a bear. It was part of the constellation Boötes in ancient times, but in the 17th century, German J. Hevelius established it as an independent constellation. The two dogs are named Asterion and Cara. Cor Caroli (meaning "Heart of Charles") is a double star divided into α 1 and α 2. α 1 is an F0 type star with a magnitude of 5.6, and α 2 is an A0 type peculiar star with a magnitude of 2.9. It has strong lines of silicon and europium in its spectrum, and is a variable star with a period of 5.46939 days.
