〘Noun〙 Pottery that Nonomura Ninsei began firing around the time of Shoho ( 1644-48 ) in front of the Ninnaji Temple in Kyoto. It ceased production in the early years of the Genroku era (around 1688 ), but its elegant and refined style became a model for Kyoto ware. Ninsei ware. 〘名〙 京都の仁和寺門前で、正保(一六四四‐四八)ごろから野々村仁清が焼きはじめた陶器。元祿初年(一六八八頃)で絶えたが、その優麗典雅な陶風は京焼の手本となった。仁清焼。おもろやき。※仮名草子・都風俗鑑(1681)一「まへには折節の菓子、御室(オムロ)やきの茶椀に宇治の名物をたてて」
