...The giant kelp, which grows on the Pacific coast of the Americas, the south coast of Australia, and the south coast of South Africa, is the largest brown algae in the world, reaching lengths of up to 60 meters. In Japan, the long-horned kelp and giant kelp can grow to lengths of over 30 meters. The life cycle of brown algae can be broadly divided into four types:
