Japanese: オトコブドウ - おとこぶどう

Amazuru V. saccharifera Makino (also called Otokobudo) grows in mountainous areas and, like the Sankakuzuru, has thick, shiny, hairless leaves that turn a beautiful red in autumn. The leaves taste sweet when chewed, and sweet juice comes out when the vine is cut, hence the name Amazuru.
