Oduru - Oduru

...There are two groups, Tundra Yukaghir (Alazeya River, lower Kolyma River basin) and Taiga Yukaghir (upper Kolyma River basin), and linguistic and cultural differences can be seen between the two. The self-proclaimed name of the former is Vadyr, and that of the latter is Odyr. For convenience, the Yukaghir language has traditionally been included in the Old Asiatic languages, but its kinship with Samoyedic, Altaic, and Chukchi-Koryak languages, and recent research has also pointed out common characteristics with the Finno-Ugric languages, leaving problems in its classification.
