Also known as the constant volume cycle. A thermodynamic cycle for internal combustion engines established by NA Otto in 1876. It consists of four strokes: intake, compression, expansion, and exhaust, and heating and cooling are performed at a constant volume. It is the basic cycle for modern gasoline engines.
