It is considered a representative women's obi due to its economical fabric and ease of tying, and comes in all-over, six-way, and otai-ko patterns. The otai-ko pattern, which is a single-layer obi for a taiko, and shows patterns on the front and back when tied, is a pattern unique to Nagoya obi.
