Born in 1686 in Iga [Died] Enkyo 4 (1747). October 24. A haiku poet from the mid-Edo period. His real name was Fusako. His other names included Saigen, Nansensai, Yoneyama, etc. He was from Ueno in Iga. He lived in Kanda, Edo, from a young age. He first studied haiku under Haga Kazuaki, and later became a disciple of Naito Rozen, working as a chanter at the Edo-za theater. He was a man of great knowledge, and edited and wrote Ayaneshi (1732), a biographical record of haiku poets, Toriyamahiko (36), a geography book of Edo, Edo Sunako, and the haiku anthologies Hyaku Fukuju (17) and Hyakukajitsu (23).
