...A small fish with a cylindrical body up to 20 cm in length, it resembles a goby at first glance and is often given the local name "haze." It is called "torahaze" over a wide area in Kansai, Shikoku, and Kyushu, "akahaze" or "okihaze" in Kochi Prefecture, "shimahaze" in Hiroshima Prefecture, "ishibue" in Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture, and "shimagochi" in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture. Its body color is a light yellowish brown with six blue lines on the head and six dark brown horizontal bands on the body.
