Reiji Ezaki
1845-1909 A photographer from the late Edo to Meiji periods.
Born March 3, 1840. Studied under Shimooka Renjo, later Ueno Hikoma. Opened a photography studio in Tokyo in 1871. In 1882, used dry plates to photograph a torpedo firing exercise on the Sumida River, and became known as Ezaki's "quick shot." Succeeded in astrophotography and night photography. Died June 7, 1899. Age 65. Born in Mino (Gifu Prefecture).

弘化(こうか)2年3月3日生まれ。下岡蓮杖(れんじょう),のち上野彦馬にまなぶ。明治4年東京で写真館を開業。15年乾板を使用して隅田川での水雷の発火演習を撮影し,早撮りの江崎として知られる。天体写真や夜間撮影に成功した。明治42年6月7日死去。65歳。美濃(みの)(岐阜県)出身。
