Born March 3, 1840. Studied under Shimooka Renjo, later Ueno Hikoma. Opened a photography studio in Tokyo in 1871. In 1882, used dry plates to photograph a torpedo firing exercise on the Sumida River, and became known as Ezaki's "quick shot." Succeeded in astrophotography and night photography. Died June 7, 1899.
