In 1867, German Jews S. Kuhn and A. Loeb founded Kuhn-Loeb & Co., which was the second most powerful financial conglomerate in the United States from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The conglomerate expanded its influence to include industrial companies, focusing on railroads such as the Union Pacific Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad. However, due to the decline of railroads and other factors, it has lost all of its former glory. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
