Poet. Born in Honjo, Saitama Prefecture. He became interested in anarchism while studying at Toyo University, and joined the Kitakaze-kai, a group led by Osugi Sakae, and the Japan Socialist League. After "Simoun," he founded "The Red and the Black" in 1923 with Tsuboi Shigeji and Hagiwara Kyojiro. He was a terrorist in the poetry world, passionate about a revolution in poetry. He was a central figure among anarchist poets before the war, publishing "Dum Dum," "Bungei Kaiho," "Kaiho Bunka," "Shihara," and "Bunkakiso." After the war, he converted to communism. He founded "Cosmos" in 1946 (Showa 21). He debated with Yoshimoto Takaaki over poets' war responsibility. He also played a leading role in the children's poetry movement. His poetry collections include "Punishment is Alive" (1933), "Bridge" (1955), and "The Destiny of a Poet - An Autobiography of Okamoto Jun" (1974).
