Okabe Rokuyata

...It occupies the Kushibiki Plateau, which spreads out on the north bank of the Arakawa River, between the cities of Fukaya and Honjo. From the late Heian period onwards, the Okabe and Imaizumi clans, who belonged to the Seven Clans of Musashi, built their castles here and ruled the area. Okabe Rokuyata, who became famous in the Battle of Ichinotani between the Genpei and Taira clans, was also from here, and his grave is located at Fusaiji Temple, which he built. In the Edo period, the Okabe clan's camp was located in Okabe, the central settlement.
