Central Union of Agricultural Cooperatives

Japanese: 農協中央会 - のうきょうちゅうおうかい

Its official name is the Central Union of Agricultural Cooperatives. Based on the amendment of the Agricultural Cooperatives Law in 1954, it was institutionalized as a guidance organization that provides guidance, audits, and education on the organization and business of agricultural cooperatives, with the aim of promoting the healthy development of agricultural cooperatives (agricultural cooperatives). The organization has a two-tiered system consisting of the Prefectural Central Union of Agricultural Cooperatives, whose members are the individual agricultural cooperatives and federations of each prefecture, and the National Central Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (abbreviated as Zenchu), whose members are the central unions of each prefecture and the national federation, and the two tiers interact organically with each other.

正称は農業協同組合中央会。1954年の農業協同組合法の改正に基づき，農協(農業協同組合)の健全な発達を図ることを目的として，農協の組織や事業に対する指導や監査，教育などを行う指導団体として制度化された。その組織は各府県の単位農協と連合会を会員とする都道府県農業協同組合中央会と，各府県の中央会と全国連合会を会員とする全国農業協同組合中央会(全中と略称)との2段階制をとっており，両者は有機的に作用しあっている。
