Abbreviation: Hor. A small constellation seen near the southern horizon in the winter sky, south of Eridanus. It was newly established as a southern constellation by the 18th century French astronomer NL Lacaille, and was named after the pendulum clock invented by C. Huygens, but it has no bright stars. Its approximate position is 3h20m in right ascension and -52° in declination. It reaches its culmination at 8pm in early January.
