Omori's formula (English)
In the case of a shallow earthquake, if the time difference between the arrival time of the P wave and the S wave at the observation point (initial tremor time) is t seconds, the epicentral distance is ⊿ km.

⊿=7.42 t

The following relationship holds. This was proposed by Fusakichi Omori, the founder of seismology in Japan.
