Mount Kanmuriki

Japanese: 冠着山 - かむりきやま

A mountain located in the southern end of the Nagano Basin in northern Nagano Prefecture. It is 1,252 meters above sea level. It is on the border between Chikuma City and Chikuhoku Village. The mountain is steep and covered in forests. It is said to be the location of a legend about the abandonment of an elderly woman in the Yamato Monogatari and Konjaku Monogatarishu, and has also been called Obasuteyama. In the Kokin Wakashu and Shui Wakashu, it is praised as a famous spot for viewing the moon.

長野県北部，長野盆地の南端にある山。標高 1252m。千曲市と筑北村の境にある。山容は険しく，森林に覆われる。『大和物語』『今昔物語集』などの姥捨伝説の場所といわれており，姨捨山とも呼ばれてきた。『古今和歌集』『拾遺和歌集』では月の名所とうたわれている。
