Obonkeiso - Obonkeiso

A perennial plant of the Crassulaceae family (APG classification: Crassulaceae). It grows wild in China and Korea, and was introduced to Japan in the mid-Meiji period. It is now commonly cultivated in many places, and the term "crassulphur-like plant" refers to this species, with the native species having almost disappeared. It is very similar to the native species, but can be distinguished by differences such as the fact that the flowers are more densely packed and the stamens are longer than the petals.

ベンケイソウ科（APG分類：ベンケイソウ科）の多年草。中国と朝鮮に自生し、日本には明治中期に渡来した。いまでは各地で普通に栽培され、単にベンケイソウといえば本種をさすようになり、在来のベンケイソウはほとんど姿を消してしまった。在来種によく似るが、花はいっそう密につき、雄しべは花弁よりも長いなどの違いがあるので区別できる。
