A descendant of Oono Yasumaro. In the third year of the Daido era, he was promoted to the rank of Jugo-no-Gi (Junior Fifth Rank). From the third year of the Kōnin era (812) to the fourth year of the Kōnin era (813), he gave lectures on the Nihon shoki (Chronicles of Japan) to more than ten people, including Kino Hirohama.
