Wall handball

Wall handball
A type of ball game. Players compete to score points by hitting a ball against a wall. It began in Ireland around the 10th century, and has been played in the United States and European countries since the 19th century. It was once simply called handball, but as seven-player team handball (handball) played at the Olympic Games became popular, it came to be distinguished by the name wall handball or Irish handball, named after the place where it originated. Pelota, fives, jai alai, and other games are considered to be of the same type. Players compete to score points by taking turns hitting a soft rubber ball against a wall with cloth or leather gloves on. Players hit the ball back after it has bounced once or not, and the game ends when either player fails to return it. The game is played on a 21-point system, with the first player to win two games. The serving team is awarded a point if they win a rally, and the serving right is transferred to the receiving team if they win. There are singles and doubles. Initially, there was only one wall, but eventually four or three courts were used, and depending on the number of walls, handball is classified as one-wall handball, three-wall handball, four-wall handball, etc.
