...Also, people started hitting the heels with irons, which were invented by a leather tabi maker in Otsu, Omi Province, and were called ishiwari yukitai (stone-splitting snow-stepping) because of their strength. The Kiyu Shoran states that it was ishiwari sekida and Otsu seki, so we can see that in the Kansai region it was called sekida (seat-splitting). Even today, it is called sekida in the Kansai region and setta in the Kanto region, but both are dialectal versions of setida.
