Born June 20, 1665. The sixth son of Matsudaira Terutsuna. He became a page to Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, and in Genroku 4, he succeeded his uncle Okawachi Nobuoki as head of the family. After serving in the Mibu Domain in Shimotsuke, Takasaki Domain in Kozuke, and Murakami Domain in Echigo, he became the first head of the Okawachi (Matsudaira) family, which became the lord of Takasaki Domain in Kyoho 2. He had a stipend of 72,000 koku. He served Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune, and was a senior councilor for 15 years. He died September 14, 1770, at the age of 83. His original name was Taketsuna.
