Year of death: September 27, 1613 (November 9, 1613)
Year of birth: Tenbun 6 (1537)
A feudal lord in the Azuchi-Momoyama and early Edo periods. The second son of Okubo Tadakane, a long-time retainer of the Matsudaira clan. His mother was the daughter of Sanjonishi Kimijo, the Minister of the Right. He was commonly known as Yahachiro, and later called himself Jiemon. He served Tokugawa Ieyasu from an early age, and participated in almost all of Ieyasu's major battles, including the Battle of Owari Kanie Castle in 1555 and the battle against the Mikawa Ikko Ikki in 1563. When Ieyasu was transferred to the Kanto region in 1590, he was given 5,000 koku in Mobara, Takashi, and Kizaki in Kazusa Province. He served in Tokugawa Hidetada's army in the Battle of Sekigahara, and in 1601 became the feudal lord of Numazu Castle in Suruga with 20,000 koku. He had no children, and tried to adopt his younger brother, Hikozaemon Tadanori, but was refused, and was stripped of his title.
