Okubo Iwami no Kami - Okubo Iwami no Kami

...He was the head of the daikan in the early Edo period. He was a member of the Shogunate's magistrates in charge of finances and mines. He was born as the second son of Okura-no-tayu, a member of the Sarugaku troupe of the Takeda clan of Kai, and became a daikan (major official). He was originally called Fujijuro and Jubei. After the fall of the Takeda clan in 1582 (Tensho 10), he was appointed as a retainer of the Tokugawa clan. He was given the surname Okubo by Okubo Tadachika and was in charge of the civil administration of Kai. In 1589-1590, during the reform of the five Tokugawa territories, he was selected as a magistrate on par with the provincial magistrate, and after entering the Kanto region, he became the head daikan. Together with Ina Tadatsugu and others, he became the center of control of the Kanto region, and from his base at Okado Jin'ya in Hachioji, Musashi Province, he commanded the Hachioji magistrate and the Hachioji 1,000 police officers, and developed various parts of the Kanto region through the control of the Jin'ya, with a fief of 90,000 koku in Yamane.
