Kashima Port - Kashimako
An excavated harbor in the southeast of Ibaraki Prefecture, stretching from the northern part of Kamisu City to the southern part of Kashima City. It is the central port of the Kashima coastal industrial area. It was designated an important harbor in 1963. The harbor is divided into an outer harbor and an inner harbor. The outer harbor has the outer facilities of the northern and southern breakwaters, and the outer harbor channel is 21-23m deep. The excavated inner harbor has a central channel (14-21m deep) that is 600m wide and 2km long, and from there there are Y-shaped north-south channels. There are two berths for 200,000-ton ships, six berths for 100,000-ton ships, and 20 berths for 50,000-ton ships, with a total length of 17km. 100 10,000-ton ships can dock at the same time.
