A former town in Mitoyo County in western Kagawa Prefecture. It occupies the northern slope of the Sanuki Mountains and part of the Mitoyo Plain in the Saita River basin. Rice farming is thriving, and tobacco, bamboo shoots, mandarin oranges, and other crops are also cultivated. In the past, it was a key transportation point from the Iyo area to Kotohira Shrine, and now it is a bus transportation hub. In January 2006, it merged with the towns of Takase, Mino, Toyonaka, Takuma, Nio, and Saita in Mitoyo County to become a city. 33.31 ^km2 . 7,808 people (2003).

A former town in Yamamoto County, northwest of Akita Prefecture. The west is covered with rice paddies, while the east is mountainous and covered with forests and fields. The center is Moritake along the Ou Main Line, and Moritake Onsen (a salt spring, 63°C) is located here, which was formed as a result of oil exploration. In addition to producing rice, the town is known for its water shield, which is shipped nationwide. In March 2006, it merged with Kotogaoka Town and Yatsuryu Town in Yamamoto County to become Mitane Town in Yamamoto County. 97.92 ^km2 . 8,455 people (2003).

香川県西部，三豊郡の旧町。讃岐(さぬき)山脈北斜面と，財田(さいた)川流域の三豊平野の一部を占める。米作が盛んで，タバコ，タケノコ，ミカンなどの栽培も行われる。古くは伊予方面から金刀比羅(ことひら)宮への交通要地で，現在はバス交通の中心地。2006年１月，三豊郡高瀬町，三野町，豊中町，詫間町，仁尾町，財田町と合併し市制，三豊市となる。33.31km²。7808人（2003）。

秋田県北西部，山本郡の旧町。西部には水田が開け，東部は山地で林野が広い。中心は奥羽本線に沿う森岳で，石油の試掘によって湧いた森岳温泉（食塩泉，63℃）がある。米を産するほか，ジュンサイを特産，全国へ出荷。2006年３月，山本郡琴丘町，八竜町と合併し町制，山本郡三種町となる。97.92km²。8455人（2003）。
