Okuki mine

...Agriculture is centered on rice and wheat, with tobacco, fruit cultivation, and dairy farming also taking place. Until 1971, Showa Mining's Okuki Mine operated in the middle of Mount Kannan at the western end of the prefecture, producing copper-containing iron sulfide ore. The Isazaki Giant Kite Battle, made from the prefecture's specialty washi paper, is famous and takes place on May 5th across the Oda River, attracting many tourists.
