... The Eria genus is a group of large epiphytic orchids with over 500 known species found from India to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. Although the flowers are small, they are beautiful and numerous, so several species are cultivated as tropical orchids. In Japan, there are two species, E. corneri Reichb.f. and E. ovata Lindl., which are distributed mainly in the Ryukyu Islands.
