...After releasing the ephyra, the base of the remaining polyp grows again to become a strobila, which releases the ephyra larvae. However, in some jellyfish, such as the octopus jellyfish, the warty jellyfish, and the Amakusa jellyfish, only one ephyra can form. In the giant jellyfish, the planulae that attach to the polyp directly turn into small jellyfish, and in the Occidentale jellyfish, the planulae directly turn into ephyras and then turn into jellyfish.
