Sending off the gods and welcoming the gods

Japanese:
Sending off the gods and welcoming the gods
It is said that gods from all over Japan gather in Izumo in the tenth month of the lunar calendar, and religious ceremonies called "Kami-sukuri" (god-sending) and "Kami-mukae" (welcoming) and "o-agari" (god-descending) are held in various regions. While other regions call it "Kannazuki" (the month without gods), Izumo calls it "Kami-arizuki" (the month in which the gods are present) and holds a Kamiari Festival at Sada Shrine in Kashima Town, Yatsuka County, Shimane Prefecture. In the regions where the gods departed, some gods were worshiped as "absent gods." The speed of the Kami-sukuri and Kami-mukae varies from region to region, from late September to November, and is not consistent. There is a legend that on this day, storms such as "Kami-are" (god-descending) and "Kami-fuu" (god-sending wind) are accompanied by storms.
