〘Noun〙① A ceremony for infants when they grow out their hair for the first time. During the Edo period, it was often held on November 15th for nobles at the age of two, and for samurai and commoners at the age of three, but the date was not necessarily consistent. In the Ogasawara school, for example, the child is covered with white hair, powdered with white powder on the top, and combed three times on both sides of the temples to pray for good health and long life. Even today, it remains as a "celebration for Shichigosan" along with boys wearing hakama and girls undoing their obi. Hair stand. 〘名〙① 幼児が頭髪を初めてのばす時にする儀式。江戸時代、公家は二歳、武家・民間では三歳の一一月一五日にすることが多かったが、必ずしも一定していない。小笠原流では白髪をかぶせ、頂におしろいの粉を付け、櫛(くし)で左右の鬢(びん)を三度かきなでて無病長寿を祈るのを例とした。現在でも男子の袴着、女子の帯解とともに「七五三の祝い」として残されている。髪立て。《季・冬》※看聞御記‐応永二九年（1422）一二月三日「姫宮〈予第三宮〉御髪置有祝着之儀、芝殿役_レ之、殊更三觴祝着如例」② 江戸時代、僧侶が伊勢参詣をする時、付け鬢(びん)をしたこと。※雑俳・柳多留‐二五（1794）「伊勢で髪おき高縄では袖とめ」③ 唐衣(からぎぬ)の襟の中央背面で垂髪(すいはつ)のあたる部分。
