Oi (Gifu) - Ooi

...It stretches from north to south across the Kiso River. In 1954, the two towns of Oi and Nagashima and the six villages of Higashino, Misato, Takenami, Kasagi, Nakanokata, and Iiji were merged to form a city. The population is 35,687 (1995).
