…In August 1335 (Kenmu 2), immediately after the Nakasendai Rebellion, Ashikaga Takauji appointed Shiba Ienaga as the leader of Oshu in opposition to the Chinjufu Shogun Kitabatake Akiie. The Nanpo Kiden and other sources state that Ienaga was the first Oshu Kanrei, but his correct title is Mutsu no Kami and Oshu Sodaisho, and he was also a steward to assist Ashikaga Yoshiakira in Kamakura.
