〘noun〙① Cutting paper, writing down questions or notes, and pasting them on books, documents, etc. Also, the paper itself. Tsukegami. Usually, sticky notes are made by putting glue on one end of a piece of paper, whereas paper that is pasted on the entire surface is called ōshi . A hanging tag. ōshi. ※Gonijō Michimichi-ki - October 14, 1092, Kanji 6: "I read the diary of Lord Kujō under the light, and here and there there were hanging tags, etc. " ② Something written on paper and posted to let people know about it. Harigami. ※Jōruri, Kangariken Honchi (1714), 3: "Every day, hanging tags are posted, and there are graffiti on the gateposts that criticise Kyoka and Kyoku verse." ③ Another name for "suitorigami (blotting paper)."

〘名〙 疑問や注意事項などを記して文書、書物などにはりつけた紙の小片。普通、貼付する紙の全面に糊(のり)をつけたものをいい、上端だけを糊づけする付箋(ふせん)と区別する。※中右記‐天永二年(1111)一二月二日「内府以例大略与奪、旧分配に押紙也」
