In January of the following year, the kabuki play "Keisei Yuzan Sakura (Asoyama Sakura)" (written by Mansaku Tatsuoka and others) performed at the Naka Theater in Osaka dramatized "Kiyomasa of Poisonous Sake" based on the popular belief that Kiyomasa was poisoned, and later, in September 1807 (Bunka 4), the joruri play "Hachijin Shugo Castle (Shugo Castle)" (written by Gyokugan Nakamura and others) performed at the Onishi Theater in Osaka also incorporated the story of poisonous sake. These plays were based on real-life books such as "Enshiyoku Taiheirakuki (Record of the Envy of Peace)." Other works that were adapted for the stage during the Meiji period include "Momoyama Tale - Earthquake Kato" (written by Kawatake Mokuami) and "Minori no Akiseishodenki - Poisoned Bun Kato" (written by Kawatake Shinshichi III), as well as Yoshida Genjiro's "Kiyomasa of Nijo Castle" (premiered October 1933). *Some of the terminology used in "《厭(■1) Taiheiki》" is listed below.
