The Yoruba have formed more than 10 independent kingdoms, including the Kingdom of Ife, the Kingdom of Oyo, the Kingdom of Ijesha, the Kingdom of Ijebu, the Kingdom of Ondo, the Kingdom of Ekiti, and the Kingdom of Egba, which are believed to have been established in the 13th and 14th centuries.
