Looking beyond the UK and the US, in Germany, in addition to the modern revision of the Luther translation, the Swiss Reformed Zurich Bible (1954), the Catholic Grünewald Bible (1924-26) and the Herder Bible (1965) have attracted attention. In France, the conflict between the old and new schools was particularly intense in the early modern period, and Bible translation was subject to strong pressure from the authorities, so a classic standard translation like the King James Version in England and the Luther translation in Germany did not develop. However, modern French translations such as the Segond Bible (1880) and the Jerusalem Bible, which is considered to be an accurate and excellent translation, are outstanding, and English and German versions were published in 1966 based on this model. In French translations, the Joint Translation (New Testament 1972), which was a collaboration between the old and new schools, has also attracted attention. ...

…　英米以外に目を転じると，ドイツでは《ルター訳》の現代改訂版のほか，スイス改革派の《チューリヒ聖書》(1954)やカトリック系の《グリューネワルト聖書》(1924‐26)，《ヘルダー聖書》(1965)などが注目をひく。フランスでは，近代初期に新･旧両派の対立がとくにはげしく，聖書翻訳が当局の強い圧迫を受けたため，イギリスにおける《欽定訳》，ドイツにおける《ルター訳》のような古典的標準訳は育たなかったが，現代フランス語訳としては《スゴン訳聖書》(1880)などのほか，正確で名訳と評される《エルサレム聖書》が出色であり，これを範として英語版とドイツ語版が1966年に刊行されている。フランス語訳では，新･旧両派の協力になる《共同訳》(新約1972)も注目される。…
